Cerita Muslim Norwegia Soal Tantangan Berpuasa Ramadan

SEAToday.com, Oslo - Badan Statistik Norwegia memperkirakan ada sekitar 200.000 muslim yang tinggal di negara tersebut. Mereka turut menjalankan ibadah puasa Ramadan dengan tantangan tersendiri.

Bagi muslim yang tinggal di bagian utara Norwegia, waktu puasa mereka mencapai sekitar 20 jam. Dan untuk muslim di daerah ibu kotanya, Oslo harus berpuasa selama 18-19 jam, lebih lama dibandingkan Jakarta yang hanya 13 jam.

Dilansir dari CNBC, seorang aktris muslim yang tinggal di Oslo, Iman Meskini mengungkapkan bahwa tantangan saat bulan Ramadan bukan hanya waktu berpuasa yang lama, tetapi juga jam kerja dan lingkungannya yang menuntut produktivitas tinggi.

“Tantangan menjalankan Ramadhan di Norwegia adalah berpuasa di masyarakat non-Islam,” kata Meskini kepada CNBC. 

“Kehidupan sehari-hari berjalan seperti biasa dan masyarakat mengharapkan Anda untuk berprestasi (sekolah, pekerjaan, ujian, dll) pada tingkat yang sama seperti sisa tahun ini,” tambahnya.

Setelah menjalankan puasa yang panjang, muslim di Norwegia akan berbuka dengan hidangan sesuai dengan anjuran agama, yaitu segenggam kurma dan segelas air. Itu juga menjadi umum karena muslim di negara ini terdiri dari warga asli dan migran dari Pakistan, Irak, Maroko, serta Turki.
