SEAToday.com, Jakarta-TelkomGroup once again held a free Eid homecoming trip program, ahead of this year's Eid al-Fitr. It is part of “Mudik Asyik BUMN” dan “Mudik Hepi Telkomsel Poin” programs on Friday, April 5.

This program aims to provide a safe trip to your hometown and encourage the public to minimize the risk of accidents, by shifting the use of motorcycles to buses and ships on the way home.

TelkomGroup dispatched as many as 2,187 travelers, consisting of customers small and medium enterprises, salesforce and the general public. Not only that, travelers are also given assistance, amounting to 584 million rupiahs for their safe and convenient journey.

Ririek Adriansyah, Telkom Indonesia President Director explained that this year the enthusiasm is much bigger. “The enthusiasm is huge! Much bigger than what we had last year. I think, it is because the holiday season for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr is longer than usual. So, a lot of people will be coming home.”

The travelers' departure was carried out in two different locations, namely Monument National and Satria Mandala Museum to ensure smooth traffic and prevent congestion.

Telkomgroup has provided 35 buses in this program, 25 of which are for "Mudik Asyik Bumn" program, and the other 10 buses are for "Mudik Hepi Telkomsel Poin" program.

The company also anticipates network traffic spikes, to ensure services remain optimal during the Eid holiday by assigning personnel to the Telkomgroup standby post, during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

“We also provide personnel for seven days during the Eid al-Fitr holiday regarding some signals located at several points, which seems to be greater than previous years for homecoming. We are targeting a 6 to 10 percent increase in surplus, so we are looking for potential areas for our services, “ said Ahmad Reza, Telkom Indonesia Corporate Communication & Investor Relation SVP.

Many travelers are greatly helped by this program, because it eases their homecoming journey. “We don't have to queue for tickets, and registration is more accessible to safely reach our hometown. The process was very smooth today, starting from registration. The organizers helped us very conveniently,” said one of the traveler to Madiun, Imam Suyuti.

The TelkomGroup's free homecoming program offers trips to eight cities by bus, namely to Palembang, Lampung, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, and Madiun. Meanwhile, trips by ship will run on three routes, namely Balikpapan to Surabaya, Makassar to Surabaya, and Batam to Tanjung Priok.
